The Power of a Morning Mindset Ritual (Even if You Hate Mornings)

/
Real Talk:
You don’t need to wake up at 5AM, run five miles, journal for 30 minutes, meditate in a sunbeam, and whip up a macro-balanced meal all before 7AM.
Let’s be real: sometimes just not waking up in a mood is the win.
Here’s the truth → Any type of positive ritual will help. An easy 5 to 10 minutes of mindset selfcare can completely shift how you show up for your day! Even if you rolled out of bed with bedhead and a bad attitude. Remember, this is all about YOU. How your start to a day is how most of the day itself will be. It’s important to put ourselves first.
It’s why I wake up at 5:15 am everyday. Start sipping on my water. Put on my favorite podcast to learn a little, throw on my workout clothes that I forced myself to lay out the night before because who wants to think about clothes at 5:15 am. Start my vibration plate and let the shaking begin! Followed by sitting with red light therapy on my legs while I’m doing my skincare. My brain is awake by the time I’m finished with the skincare and my podcast is done so next is my brain dump. I journal whatever comes to mind. What I am doing for the day or what I did two days ago. I never time myself because it’s up to me and not what a book tells me that I must do. There are days I say two words and that’s it. It’s what I needed to let out and now I am good! I just knocked out my mindset therapy for the day and now I am ready for the chaos. Fighting to get my shower in before someone takes my bathroom time or getting out the door without forgetting my keys. I handle it all much better when I had my “ME” time first!
Key takeaways
- I set my tone before the world sets it for me
- It helps me respond instead of react
- Re-centers your goals and mindset (especially when you’re on a health or healing journey) and I am on a 100% healing journey!
- It’s one act of self-leadership that makes the rest of the day feel less chaotic
