Got Sticky Thoughts? Let’s Rewrite the Script

Hey Beautiful,
Ever notice how one teeny-tiny thought can spiral into a full-on mental soap opera before you’ve even had your first sip of coffee?
Yeah… same. It would happen all the time and could completely change my mood for the day.
This week, we’re talking about sticky thoughts—you know, the kind that cling like gum to your shoe.
Thoughts like:
“I should be further along.”
“I always mess things up.”
“I’ll never get it right.”
These thoughts usually start as a whisper, then snowball into a script you didn’t ask for—but accidentally memorized.
Let’s change that.

🌀 A Thought Spiral Example
You miss one workout and suddenly your brain says:
“See? You never stick to anything. You’re lazy. Why bother?”
Yikes. But here’s the thing… that’s not you.
That’s just an old script running on autopilot. A little voice out of nowhere.
Here’s how to rewrite it:
- Pause and notice. “Whoa, I just had a really harsh thought.” That voice wasn’t me. That is some negative voice ( I named mine Weezy!).
- Respond with kindness. “One missed workout doesn’t define me. I’m human, not a machine.” I’d tell “Weezy” not today. It’s okay to take the break I needed and tomorrow is a new day!
- Flip the script. “I’m learning to show up even when it’s not perfect. That is progress.”
See the shift? The story changes—because you changed it.

✍️ Journal Prompt of the Week:
“What story am I telling myself—and how can I write a better one?”
Light a candle. Spray your favorite linen spray (my favorite is a vanilla/cherry) Grab your journal or your journal app (I use reflection). Ask that question and let it pour out.
Then take a deep breath and write the version of your story where you root for yourself. Where you’re kind. Where you grow.
You don’t need permission to change the narrative.
You just need this moment—and maybe a refill of coffee.
Wishing you a clear mind, a brave heart, and a bold pen today.
You’ve got this. And I’ve got you. With clarity and caffeine,
Laurie 🤎
